Leona turned 5 (In July)

Well, now that it's October, it is probably about time to get caught up on some of the things that went on this summer.  Really, I should be packing up our house for our big move next weekend but I'll be the first to admit that I've always excelled at procrastination.  Anyway... way back in July, the 13th to be exact, Leona had a birthday.  It was a very exciting birthday for her.  The big 5!

She had been talking about it for weeks.  She wanted to open presents and then go on a date with Daddy and come home and eat cake with a castle on it.

First up were the presents.
In case you didn't know, she's turning 5.
Better show you again with 2 hands... yep, it's 5.

 Still 5.
Well, it's off to the side this time, but still holding up that 5.
 Hmm, someone didn't get the memo, she's 5, not 10.  :)
And finally, the cake.  I really wasn't feeling creative enough to go into actually building a cake with a castle and a prince and princess dancing on top, so I cheated and incorporated a present into her cake topper.
Unfortunately, I didn't get any photo documentation of the date she took with her dad.  She was super excited about it though and spent several minutes trying to decide just the right outfit to wear.  She finally chose one of her favorite flower dresses, her "church sweater" and her "fancy sandals".  It was the perfect outfit for a walk around the duck pond and a surprise trip to Dairy Queen.

All in all, turning 5 was everything Leona hoped it would be.

So cute! It's not every day a little lady turns 5--sounds like you made it a memorable one. Love the castle cake!
