InknBurn 4arms: Product Review & Giveaway!!

A short while back I received an email from InknBurn.  I had never heard of InknBurn but was quick to check them out because in the email it showed pictures of their new 4arms arm sleeves.  I ♥ arm sleeves and these were some of the coolest looking sleeves I had ever seen.  When I got to their website I was not disappointed, it was bright and colorful and full of some of the most bada** arm sleeves I've seen.  They seem to be designed with the ultra runner in mind (but cater to the everyday runner too) and since someday I want to run forever without stopping, I just knew that I had to have some.  Without giving it another thought, I contacted the company letting them know how cool I thought their sleeves were and begged them to let me try some let them know that if they ever wanted a blog review or giveaway done that I was their girl.  Within 24 hours I had received word back from Charlie Nickell letting me know that they just might be able to work something out.  After a few emails back and forth I was excited to not only get a pair of sleeves to review, but also some to giveaway to a lucky reader as well.  Score!!  To say I was excited would be a complete understatement.

I patiently watched the mail until finally (and by finally, I mean within a week... they were super speedy) there was a suspicious looking package:
Even the packaging looks hardcore!
I was super excited, but not too excited that I forgot to take a picture of myself with the package of course!
What, you don't check the mail with your camera?
Then it was into the house to quickly rip that baby open cautiously and delicately open the package.  Much to my excitement the inside was even cooler than the outside.  I was greeted with 3 packages of arm sleeves, a set for me and 2 sets to give away!!  How cool is that?!  Lucky me & lucky you!
It didn't take much thought on my part to figure out which ones I was going to keep for myself... you can't live in Eugene and be an Oregon Duck fan and pass up on something duck colored when you have the opportunity... Green, hooray!

The minute I put them on I felt hardcore.  How can you not when you're wearing a skull that says "run or die".  This of course prompted another impromptu photo shoot:

Let me just say, I love these sleeves.  They feel great and look so cool.  I don't know about you, but if I were to see someone at a race sporting some hard core sleeves like these I would know they meant business.  Of course looks aren't everything, but luckily these sleeves are even more than super awesome looks.  Here's a little info from their website:
4ARMS are made for the human race. Unlike tube type arm sleeves, 4ARMS' mirror the contour of your arm’s humerus and radius bones.  Designs are “burned” into the fabric creating a smooth, non-chaffing effect. There are no paints or decals on a pair of 4ARMS; frictionless construction & wicking ability second to none.  STAY WARM, LOOK COOL. Individually constructed in the USA.
They really aren't joking, they are very comfortable and warm.  I love the fit, they are nice and long and seem to stay in place quite nicely even on my stick less than muscular arms.  I hope to be starting a collection of their sleeves very soon.  I want this pair next:
Anyway, I think that's enough about me and my love affair... lets talk about you and what you can do to win your very own pair.  I will have two winners.  I have a pair for the ladies and a pair for the men.  (Did you hear that guys, it's not just another girlie giveaway!!)
Ladies, you are playing to win your very own hardcore Run or Die 4arms (red) and guys you're hoping to win the super awesome Cymbol 4arms (silver/metal).
There is only one requirement for entry:
Head over to InknBurn, check out their site, and leave me a comment telling me which pair of sleeves you like the best or something else you like from their site (they have pretty cool tech shirts too along with shorts and sportbras in the works).

If you'd like additional entries into this awesome giveaway here are some extra credit options:
Follow me +1
Check out Charlie's blog and leave him a comment. +1
Link this giveaway somewhere, somehow... on your blog, Facebook, twitter... +1
Let me know what makes you feel hardcore. +1
Tell me the furthest you've ever run and if you have any desire of ever running ultras.  +1

If you'd like to leave a comment for each entry that's cool, but if not that's okay too.  I'm going to be putting all the entries into a spreadsheet and doing some sort of random drawing to pick the winner, so I'll divide them up anyway.  I'll pick the winner just in time for spring break, so you have through March 17th to enter (winner announced March 18th)... what are you waiting for, go check them out!

Disclaimer:  I was given a pair of 4arms to review and 2 pairs to giveaway.  The opinions expressed here, however, are entirely my own.

You look great in those fancy 4asrms. It is like being warm in spite of the weather. I love the purple 4arms, but the Britney pair were out there too. So I just need to say, pick me, pick me.

I would love to get the Hawaii Five-Oh Tech Shirt, the Women's Pink Ribbon Tech shirt and the Blue Women's Run or Die 4ARMS. Of course the blue to represent my love for the Auburn Tigers. If they had orange and blue I might've bought a pair right then and there.

I'm leaving this on my blog right now.

Okay, got multiple entries here...

- Already a follower - yay me
- I love the Surf City tech shirt on InknBurn.com. It's probably close to my heart because Surf City 2010 was my 1st marathon and Surf City 2011 was my 3rd marathon.
- Linked your your giveaway to my blog (muddyrunner.blogspot.com)
- What makes me feel hardcore? When I do something that fellow runners think is difficult or challenging, like I felt pretty hardcore by running the San Francisco Marathon and training on all the hills for it.
- I've run three marathons, have at least two more planned for this year (SF 2011 baby!)... I do think that an ultra is in my future someday but probably not this year. I feel like I have to get some more marathons under my belt before I can entertain that ideal. Oh, and I have to convince my wife that running an ultra is a good idea. She is utterly, totally and completely against me running an ultra :D

Great blog btw, love reading about all your runs and your cute kiddies.

Janet said...

I think the arm sleeve designs are pretty bizarre. But I would choose the blue ones or the purple paid ones. I feel hardcore if I work out more than a half hour or run more than 3 miles. The furthest I have ever walk/run in a race is 6.7 miles but running only is 4 miles. I don't know what ultras are but I doubt I would have a desire to run them.

I love the purple Run or Die Tech Shirt. It's awesome. What a great mantra to have.

Running in the strong wind and near horizontal rain makes me feel hardcore. People in cars drive by and look at me like I am insane. I love it.

The farthest I have run before was 26.2 miles, back in 2002. I have no desire to run ultras...but I will be doing another 26.2 this year.

4)I feel hardcore when I run in the snow or rain... something about being out there when no one else in their right mind would be totally makes me feel tough.
5)The furthest consecutive distance I've run is a marathon, but I've also done a relay where I ran 31 miles in less than 24 hours.... I think it'd be cool to try an ultra someday.

Of course, I wouldn't say no to the ones you're giving away though!

The furthest I've run is 10.2 miles, but one of these days I'm going to get my butt in gear and do a half-marathon. One of these days.

What makes me feel hardcore...it's that feeling at the end of a really sick race/workout that only *you* can feel, when it seems like your muscles are just...vibrating in harmony with nature somehow. That's a really earthy-crunchy way of describing what's probably just an endorphin high, but there's something magical about knowing you kicked @$$ and pushed yourself to the limit.
