Fireworks

We had a big day yesterday.  In the morning we went to the library and checked out some new books and movies.  Then we came home and after lunch went to the wading pool to play for a while.  The kids had a great time.  After naps, (everyone but me...I again went to lap swim during nap time) which were long and late (Emme didn't wake up until 5:30pm), we had some pizza while watching Calvin's "Buzz Lightyear" movie.  Then at about 7:30 we got ready to go to the park and watch fireworks.

The fireworks were supposed to start at the end of the Eugene Emeralds baseball game, so we figured about 9:30ish and it was so hot in our house we thought it would be fun to go to the park and play a bit before watching the fireworks.  We ended up getting out of the house around 8pm, which put as at Amazon Park by 8:15...the kids played and played and played until about 9:15 when it started getting dark, then we loaded them up into the stroller and headed to the soccer fields so we could see the fireworks over the baseball stadium.  Unfortunately the show didn't start until 10 and Emme was quite impatient but there were lot of people around us who had brought their own fireworks and gave some "mini-shows" (some not so mini).  Once the real fireworks started Emme was quite entranced however Calvin at first was indifferent.  In fact, at one point he told Dan, "Daddy turn these off!"  Silly little boy.  It was a long night and we didn't get home until close to 11:30...but we all had a great time.  Now the question is, do we want to do it again tomorrow night on the real 4th of July when they have a firework show at the Olympic trials?
