Snow Day!

We woke up to about an inch of snow this morning and big heavy flakes coming down. It was quite a surprise. Before all was said and done total accumulation was between 4 and 6 inches. So, we had an official snow day! Church was actually canceled. Of course we didn't find out until we were already dressed and ready to go, but at least we found out before we left the house. The kids were disappointed (they really love going to their classes) until Dan explained to them that church had been canceled so that we could all stay home and play in the snow. So, we changed out of our church clothes and into our snow clothes and had a great time building a "snow bear" and throwing snowballs (Emme has quite an arm and deadly accuracy). After we played for a while we came in and had soup & hot chocolate then took naps (everyone except Emme). We finished up the day with a really yummy chocolate cake, chocolate frosting, candy sprinkles and vanilla ice cream. It was really a great day! (I mean I'm really disappointed that we didn't get to go to church...I was actually a little sad, I had after all stayed up late preparing my lesson.)

Anyway, I don't think that we are supposed to get any more snow...maybe a rain snow mix, but they've already canceled some schools in the area, so we'll see what happens.
